Lynn Zsidov-Steiner

Paintrix : Mid 16th century.

From paint + -trix, after painter.

A woman who paints

My work is deeply inspired by the rugged beauty of the Lake Superior region. My oil paintings are not only shaped by my connection to nature but also by my background in graphics, fine art, environmentalism, and my interest in 18th and 19th Century history.

Studio work reflects a limited palette and often historical pigments inspired by many Old Masters. Plein air painting is also a way to express nature through art, and I love the way oil paint can render a scene with such depth and luminosity.

As a committed life time learner, I continue to refine my observation and painting skills.
