Cyndi Taylor

Cyndi Taylor, Mixed Media Fiber Art

Cyndi is a self-taught craftsperson and retired conservation scientist inspired by folk art traditions, nature, lake superior, and flora & fauna. Exploring and observing nature in the woods and waters around her home and a lifetime of adventures around the world provides inspiration for Cyndi’s whimsical and lighthearted creations. Working with natural elements such as wool, linen, clay and wood to create textured landscapes and creatures is an expression of Cyndi’s gratitude for the wonder & delight she experiences living in this beautiful place.  Observing the  changes of sky and water and attempting to capture that beauty in wool is a challenging and inspiring process. Using felting, punch needle, rug hooking & embroidery, Cyndi “paints” with wool to capture the environment,  the lifestyle, and the amazing seasonal changes of the Bayfield peninsula.
